Fragrances

  1. What does it mean that the ingredients are in 90% from natural origin?

All COLABO products consist of at least 90% ingredients from natural origin which means that the products are mostly made of ingredients coming directly from nature such as extracts, alcohol, water. We add non-natural ingredients in order to preserve and stabilize the fragrance or when a specific fragrance accord does not have a natural extract. An example can be fruit accords like pineapples or strawberries, so far extraction is not possible for these fruits.

  2. What are natural extracts in the composition and how do they affect the fragrance?

Natural extracts in the composition are the essences extracted from plants e.g. flowers, fruits, tree resins. We use these extracts to create a fragrance. Natural extracts are the key ingredients of a fragrance, they tend to make it more intense and last longer. Moreover, natural extracts are used in aromatherapy, we believe that they have a better effect on our senses and mood than synthetic aromas.

  3. Why is information about the country of origin important?

There are several reasons why for the COLABO fragrance collection you will find a list of countries of origin of the natural extracts contained in their composition. First of all – because at COLABO we want you to know exactly what you are using when choosing our products. Secondly – because the fragrance composition is a complex mixture of various ingredients and in many cases the origin of a given extract determines its specific character for a given region of occurrence. It also often affects its quality. It happens very often that suppliers of natural oils mix batches of different origins in order to enhance the quality of the oil. At COLABO, we value the uniqueness and value of extracts that come from one specific region and represent its spirit. And thirdly – because we want to emphasize the fact that fragrances are composed with many very different pieces, often seemingly very distant from each other. It is important to us, because one of the COLABO’s priories is create sense of community and share the beauty of diversity. The fragrance is a beauty that goes beyond any limits – it is joint work, collaboration that makes it possible to arise.

  4. Who do we work with while producing COLABO fragrances?

This is another very important matter for us. We only support ethical business and select business partners very carefully. We verify the suppliers of all our ingredients and how they are obtained. This is one of the reasons why we know exactly where the individual natural extracts come from. Why do we care about it? As many countries do not adequately promote good practices in the work environment – we mean, among others, such worrying phenomena as the use of child labor, under-wages or animal testing. To break this chain, at COLABO we decided not only that we can only act fairly – towards people and the environment – but also to cooperate with such partners who value similar ideas. Therefore, we choose those suppliers who care about high standards and undertake to act fairly in terms of respect for people and their work, as well as for the planet.

  5. Who are COLABO fragrances for?

We do not put labels on our products, each fragrance can be used according to your own preference no matter the gender, age, nationality. Our common goal is to preserve nature, we believe that anyone has the power to make the world a better place. That includes you!

  6. What is the "COLABO Idea" ?

For the COLABO brand, nature is a priority, we want to protect it for us now and future generations. Everything we do is based on the following principles:

    – Our products are suitable for vegans, we do not use any ingredients of animal origin.

    – We are an animal friendly brand which means no animal testing!

    – COLABO’s packaging ideas are based on the less waste philosophy, our components are recyclable and / or made of recycled materials.

    – Our priority is to use only good ingredients, we cooperate with suppliers with the highest standards in terms of production methods and respect for the environment.

Eco-conscious products

  1. What does” eco-conscious” product mean?

By definition, eco-conscious means environmentally aware and sensitive to environmental impact. COLABO eco-consciousness comes from the efforts to preserve our natural surroundings by creating less waste, use natural ingredients not harmful to the environment, reuse the waste already generated by people and choose ethical partners to cooperate with.

  2. Which packaging components are recyclable and which are from recycled materials?

Our COLABO Team put a lot of effort to make sure all components are either recyclable or from recycled materials, here is a list of the product elements:

    – Ash wood caps with FSC certificate and recycled insert in 50%,

    – Recycled bottle label in 90%,

    – Glass bottle can be recycled after separation from atomizer,

    – Paper outer packaging that is fully recyclable –folding box and insert.

We do not use any unnecessary elements like cellophane, plastic or metallised decorations and bottle ornaments that make the product impossible to recycle.

  3. The brand uses a term "simple ingredients list", what does that mean?

This is quite simple, we tried to minimize the use of ingredients to not over extract the resources and use only necessary ingredients for our product type. Our products are simply made of perfume, alcohol and water. We believe in less is more concept.

  4. What is the Vegan Society certification declaration?

Vegan Society is an international charity that is working with manufacturers and suppliers across a range of products to ensure that each product meets the highest vegan standards. To be certificated by the charity a business must be complaint with the below standards:

    – The development and production of the product must not involve the use of any animal product, by-product or derivative.

    – The development and production of the product must not involve testing of any sort on animals conducted at the initiative of the company or on its behalf

    – The development and production of GMOs must not have involved animal genes or animal-derived substances.

For more information on the Vegan Society Trademark, please check: https://www.vegansociety.com/the-vegan-trademark

  5. What does the CRUELTY-FREE declaration mean?

“Cruelty-free” means that a product and its ingredients were not tested on animals. COLABO partners with suppliers and laboratories that do not test on animals. We also do not purchase any cosmetic ingredients from China that require animal testing.

  6. What is the FSC certificate on the packaging?

FSC certification declares that products are sourced from responsibly managed forests that benefit the environment, society, and economy. We want to make sure that everything that is harvested for the production of our goods is managed in a sustainable way. In our case, the certification visible on the packaging relates to the folding box made out of paper. COLABO also holds a FSC certificate for the wooden cap made in Poland.
